App Instructions:
1. After you have registered and successfully logged in to the app, you'll want to add your students. To do so, press the "Add Students" button.
|
2. Enter your student's first and last name and then press "add". Continue until you have successfully entered all students.
If you make a mistake and need to delete a student, you can do so by pressing to the right of the student name and swiping to the left. A "delete" button will appear. You can also press "Edit" in and choose which students to delete by pressing the (-) sign that appears. If you need to delete your entire roster, you can do so by pressing "Delete Roster". |
3. In order to assess your students, you'll first need to create one or more inventories.
|
4. You'll want to give your inventory a useful name.
Once named, you'll select the features you'll be testing against. To select, you will slide the dial to the right. You can only select up to 12 features at a time. From here you can choose to have the system auto generate words for you b checking the box next to "Auto generate words for me" or you can choose to create your own. Press Next in the upper right hand corner. |
7. Your completed inventory list will look like this.
|
8. If your students are completing their assessment via pencil and paper or a similar means, you can enter their test data yourself by choosing "Enter Test Data".
Select the student by pressing on the default student name and choosing the student from the list. Select date and the inventory to select from the same way. Press "Submit" when finished. To view previous tests, you can select one from the "Current Tests" selection at the bottom. These are automatically added by the system. |
9. When entering your student data, if the student spelled the word correctly, you can press "copy" to automatically populate. You can also add a "note" to the note section.
If the student did not spell the word correctly, enter the word in the text box exactly as they spelled it. Press "Save" (in the upper right) when completed. |
10. Instead of manually entering data, you can choose to administer your test online. This will allow students to take the test via web browser on any device.
To do so, choose "Administer Test" and then choose the inventory you would like to administer the test against and press "Submit". |
11. The system will generate an email with a unique web site address within. This web site address is then given to your students along with the Exam ID. Students navigate to the web address, enter the Exam ID. They are then prompted to select their teacher's name as well as their own.
The teacher then reads the words to the students and they type them in. Once they finish and submit their answers, they are immediately available in the app. |
12. Select the type of report you would like to run.
Reports you have created previously are automatically populated at the bottom for easy access. |
13. For an individual report, select the student and the inventory to report against. Also, choose the date (optional) to view a list of tests available. Select the test and the type of report. The word study report will provide a report similar to those of popular word study programs. The spelling test report will provide a report similar to a standard spelling test.
Choose Submit to execute the report. |
14. To run a roster report (a report that includes all students), select the inventory in which the report should be run against, the date (optional) and the type of report.
The system will generate an individual report for each student for which data is available. |
To run a group report, select the inventory in which the report should be ran against as well as the date (optional) and choose submit.
|
NOTE:
Once you create an inventory, you can share it with other teachers by choosing the "Share" button on the inventory screen. The system will generate an email to those teachers letting them know you have shared an inventory with them. The next time they login to the app, they can choose to accept the inventory and have it created automatically within their app. |
